James
is back from Affiliate Summit, Las Vegas where
by all reports things are less than stellar
these days. There were over 3200 participants
at this even which cost $1800 to attend. James
had a little get together with some of his students
on the Saturday night before the Affiliate Summit
at McFadden's Irish Pub at Rio All-Suite Hotel
& Casino. James and Charles talk a little
about some of the people they have met over
the years at the various affiliate marketint
events. James talks about the process of getting
into the summit and how affiliates and merchants
intereact in the Meet Market of Affiliate Summit.
There are speakers and trade show booths open
on Monday. James attended some of the presentations
including Jay Berkowitz's 10 Golden Rules Internet
Strategies talk. Jay talked about podcasting
and how powerful it is to get the word out about
what he is doing. James mentions the websit

can use to find experts in particular fields.
James talks about the exhibit area and the apparent
upgrading of everyone's booth over last year.
Google has thrown their hat into affiliate management
ring. James met some affiliate managers who
gave him some new information about how their
business was going. James also attended the
Todd Crawford talk, Crawford was one of the
founders of CJ, and moderated a panel about
affiliate fraud and how costly it can be for
merchants. James talks a little bit about some
of the atmosphere and how he finished off the
conference - his is considering attending Affiliate
Summit in NYC in August.
